About THE CLUB

JOIN THE ADVENTURE

The Touring Caravan Club, (T.C.C) is a national caravanning club covering much of the U.K.

It was originally formed as the Trailer Caravan Club in 1937 and then re-formed after the 2nd WW in 1964 its original aim (still maintained today) was to provide a members club that offers a warm welcome to owners of Caravans, Motorhomes, Trailer Tents and family tents without segregation into class or category. In 1967/8 the Club was growing quickly and was reorganised into three regions, Midlands, Southern and Northern. By 1975 eight additional ‘Sections’ had been formed and the club carried on through the 80’s and 90’s expanding to over 20 ‘Sections’.

In 2005 it was agreed to rename the club the Touring Caravan Club. Membership is open to anyone who owns any of the afore mentioned units with family membership available to the immediate family. There is also a provision for Associate Membership. We are proud of the family atmosphere that the club has and we have no intention of becoming a large, soul-less organisation just for the sake of commercialism. We will continue to expand our membership but once we see the family atmosphere, the heart of our Club, being weakened, we may have to look towards restricting the membership.

The Club is currently divided into 13 sections, each with its own Committee elected annually by the members. There is then an elected National Committee, who together with trustees and representatives from the Sections oversees the administration of The Touring Caravan Club. Each Section offers its members a choice of rallies throughout the year, from simple weekends, Bank Holiday weekends to holiday rallies both in the UK and abroad. New members can join the Section of their choice, usually the one in their own area, but are free then to rally throughout the country with any Section they wish. Rally Officers at each rally will check membership cards to ensure only members of the TCC are on the rally. A Rally Brochure, containing information on all the rallies planned for the year by all the Sections, is issued at the start of each year to enable members to plan their year’s rallying
